TCF Canada test dates in 2026: the sessions we found, centre by centre
There is no national TCF Canada calendar: each approved centre sets its own sessions and publishes them — or not — on its website. So on 17 September 2026, we read the registration pages of the main centres in France, Canada, Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia — and re-read the North African ones on 17 October. What we found: sessions in twelve Moroccan cities up to December, monthly in Lyon, quarterly and snapped up in Toronto, “SOLD OUT” in Vancouver. The dates, what they cost, and the rule for not missing the next one.
- No national calendar: dates and registration are handled by each centre — never by France Éducation international.
- France: ACTE Paris 4 Nov and 2 Dec; ACCORD Paris 23 Sept and 28 Oct; Alliance française de Lyon 21 Oct, 25 Nov, 16 Dec; Montpellier 23 Sept and 13 Nov 2026.
- North Africa (re-checked on 17 October): Rabat 8 dates from 22 Oct to 10 Dec; Casablanca 3 Nov to 8 Dec; Tunis 26–27 Nov, 16 and 18 Dec; Sousse 18 and 20 Nov; Algeria every month, on the IFAL platform.
- Canada: Toronto opens registration a month before each quarter (next opening on 1 December 2026, for January to March 2027); Vancouver showed every session full.
- Between two attempts: 20 days in France and Canada, 26 to 36 in Algeria, 30 in Tunisia; results within 2 to 5 weeks, depending on the country.

The rule: each centre sets its own dates
The TCF Canada is designed by France Éducation international, but FEI doesn’t run any sessions: it approves centres, which choose their dates, their format (paper or computer), their fee and their registration deadline. Two consequences. First, the only reliable source is the centre’s registration page — that’s what we read on 17 September 2026, and that’s what counts on the day you pay. Second, two centres in the same city can offer completely unrelated dates: in Paris, ACCORD had a session on 23 September, while ACTE’s next one was on 4 November.
What the dates have in common, on the other hand, comes from FEI’s rules: a minimum of 20 days between two attempts (26 in Algeria, 30 in Tunisia, set by the local Institut français), a results certificate valid for two years, and — for sessions held since 1 September 2026 — no re-marking: the only way to improve a score is to retake the test — which means finding another date.
France: the sessions we found
In France, the TCF Canada is held monthly or twice a month at the centres that offer it — far less often than the TCF IRN, which runs almost weekly in Paris. What the websites showed on 17 September 2026:
| Centre | Dates found | Fee | Registration |
|---|---|---|---|
| ACTE, Paris (10th arrondissement) | 4 November, 2 December 2026 (paper-based) | €195 | Online; results in “at least 3 weeks” |
| ACCORD, Paris (15th arrondissement) | 23 September, 28 October 2026 (computer-based) | €220 | Closes 5 days before |
| Alliance française de Lyon | 21 October, 25 November, 16 December 2026 — 10 and 23 September full | €220 | Closes 48 hours before; results in 2–3 weeks |
| Alliance française de Montpellier | 23 September (deadline 13 Sept), 13 November 2026 (deadline 3 Nov), computer-based | €200 | Ten days before; results within 2 weeks |
| Alliance française Aix-Marseille | Dates on the centre’s page; computer-based only | €60 per test | Two weeks before; results in 15 days |
| KLF (Lyon, Montpellier, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Annecy) | Online booking by city | no data | Results in 10 days to 3 weeks |
| CLPS, Rennes and Brest | Online registration form | €285 | On clps.net |
Our city pages, in French, detail each centre with its contacts — Paris, Lyon, Montpellier, Marseille, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Nantes, Rennes — and our guide to where to take the TCF Canada in France compares fees.
Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria: the sessions we found
It is in North Africa that the TCF Canada is most frequent — and best advertised. We re-read these pages on 17 October 2026. In Morocco, each Institut français publishes its sessions with an online cart, at 2,900 dirhams everywhere: twelve cities listed sessions up to December — thirteen open dates in Kenitra, eight in Rabat (22 October to 10 December) and in El Jadida, seven in Casablanca (3 November to 8 December, plus Béni Mellal on 14 November and 12 December), four in Fez, three in Tangier (12, 19 and 26 November) and in Agadir, and just one in Marrakech (12 November).
In Tunisia, the Institut français publishes a calendar by hub, in two stages: an online appointment window, then registration in person. In Tunis: 26–27 November (appointments from 26 to 31 October) and 16 and 18 December (9–15 November), at 880 dinars; in Sousse, 18 and 20 November (appointments from 19 to 22 October); in Sfax, 27 November (2–8 November); in El Mourouj, Béja and Nabeul-Hammamet, late November and mid-December.
In Algeria, the Institut français doesn’t publish dates on its website: “TCF sessions are open every month at the five branches” — Algiers, Oran, Constantine, Annaba, Tlemcen — and the actual calendar only appears on the IFAL platform (VFS Global), once you’re logged in. The TCF Canada costs 37,500 DA there; allow 26 to 36 days between two registrations, depending on the branch. How it works, in French: IFAL : prendre rendez-vous pour le TCF.

Canada: registration openings rather than dates
In Canada, the problem isn’t finding a date but a seat. The Alliance française de Toronto runs quarterly sessions and opens registration one month before each quarter, at 10 am: on 17 September, its website announced openings on 1 December 2026 (sessions from January to March 2027), then on 2 March, 20 May and 17 August 2027. “If a session is not listed, it is full”; there is no waitlist. In Vancouver, the Alliance française Canada Pacific showed every session “SOLD OUT” ($390) and advises logging in the moment registration opens, passport in hand, in a single tab. In Montreal, the Alliance Française registers candidates “subject to available seats”, without publishing a fee.
The dates themselves are on each centre’s page: Montreal (seven centres), Toronto, Quebec City, Ottawa, Vancouver — and our guide to TCF Canada test centres in Canada explains how to get a seat.
Planning your date: deadlines, results, second chances
Three time spans to add up before you choose a session. Registration closes from 48 hours (Lyon) to two weeks (Marseille) before the test in France, a month before in Canada; in North Africa, as long as seats remain. Results arrive within two weeks in Montpellier, two to three in Lyon and Ottawa, three to four in Vancouver, five weeks in Tunisia. A second attempt requires a 20-day gap in France and Canada, 26 to 36 in Algeria, 30 in Tunisia — and with no re-marking since September 2026, it’s the only recourse.
If your application has a deadline — an Express Entry profile to submit, an invitation to respond to — allow at least two months between the first session and a usable result after a possible second attempt, and aim for the first available date rather than the most convenient one: in Toronto as in Casablanca, sessions fill up in that order.
The centre sets the date; the score is up to you
A session is paid in full and can only be retaken after twenty days. The mock exams in the “TCF DELF TEF: Tests 2026” app follow the official TCF Canada format — four tests, scored out of 699 and out of 20, with CLB (NCLC) conversion — with AI feedback on writing and speaking.

When is the next TCF Canada test date?
It depends on the centre: on 17 September 2026, ACCORD in Paris had a session on 23 September, the Alliance française de Montpellier on 23 September then 13 November, ACTE in Paris on 4 November, the Alliance française de Lyon on 21 October; on 17 October, Rabat had a session on 22 October, Casablanca on 3 November and Tunis on 26–27 November. There is no national calendar: the centre’s registration page is the reference.
Is there an official TCF Canada test date calendar?
No. France Éducation international approves centres but runs no sessions: each centre publishes its own dates, often one or two months ahead, and updates them as registrations come in. FEI’s lists only give the centres’ contact details.
How many TCF Canada sessions are there per month?
From thirteen dates in two months in Kenitra (Morocco) to one a month in Lyon or Sousse, and one a quarter in Toronto. In France, the TCF Canada is much less frequent than the TCF IRN, which is held almost every week in Paris.
What if all TCF Canada sessions are full?
Create your account in advance and log in the moment registration opens — in Toronto, a month before the quarter, at 10 am; in Vancouver, with your passport ready and a single tab open. With no waitlist, check back regularly: seats do free up. In France, try another centre — centres in the same city don’t have the same dates.
How long between two TCF Canada attempts?
At least twenty days in France and Canada (an FEI rule applied by every centre), 26 to 36 days in Algeria depending on the branch, and 30 days in Tunisia, set by the Instituts français. For sessions held since 1 September 2026, no re-marking is possible: retaking the test is the only recourse.
