The 2026 sessions, and 2027
In mainland China the DELF and DALF are run with the Education Examinations Authority of the Ministry of Education (NEEA), in cooperation with France Éducation international: the same exam days in every centre, three sessions a year, “usually in March, June and November”. Each session spreads over three weekends — the DALF first, then the B2, then A1, A2 and B1. On the first day of each weekend the written papers are in the morning and the speaking tests start in the afternoon; the speaking tests continue all the next day. The 2027 dates had not been published on 26 October 2026.

The admission ticket is printed from the registration site: for November 2026, from 2 November for the DALF, 9 November for the B2 and 16 November for A1, A2 and B1. The DELF Junior and DELF Prim have their own session in October — in 2026 the junior exams were on 24–25 October in Shanghai, with registration from 26 August to 8 September.

How to register
Registration is online only, on delf-dalf.neea.edu.cn (Chinese), during the window of each session:
- create an account on NEEA’s candidate site and log in;
- choose the session, the centre and the level, and fill in your details exactly as they should appear on the diploma — surname, first name, nationality, mother tongue, e-mail;
- upload a recent colour photo (white or blue background, 3.5 × 4.9 cm, JPG or PNG under 30 KB): it is printed on the admission ticket and used to check your identity;
- pay online (Alipay, China Merchants Bank or Bank of China); a confirmation e-mail follows.
The rules NEEA publishes: you may register for only one level at a time; places depend on each centre’s capacity and go until it is full; once registered you cannot change the date, level or centre or cancel, and a candidate who does not sit is not refunded. Mainland candidates register with their resident identity card and bring the same document on the day; arrive at least 30 minutes before the start — late candidates cannot sit any paper.

Adults, juniors and children
Adults sit the DELF-DALF tout public. The DELF Junior is for candidates aged 12 to 17 and the DELF Prim for children; the junior diploma is the same as the adult one. Under the French Ministry of Education’s rules, the exam is open to candidates who are not French nationals, and to French nationals born in a non-French-speaking country who have not studied in French secondary or higher education.
Results and diplomas
Results are posted on the registration site about a month after the last level of a session. You pass with 50/100. Within a month of the results you can collect your score sheet or provisional certificate from your centre or local Alliance française, and ask to see your paper (only simple addition errors are corrected); the diploma arrives two to three months after the exam.
Preparing while you wait for the dates
The exam itself does not change from one country to another: in China as in France, the DELF A1 to B2 and the DALF C1 have four sections scored out of 25, you pass with 50/100, and a score below 5/25 in any one section fails you; the diploma is issued by the French Ministry of Education and is valid for life. France Éducation international publishes free official sample papers — DELF B2, DELF B1, DALF C1 — with the answer keys, the listening recordings and the marking grids. Our guides, in English: the DELF B2 practice test, with answers, the DELF B2, the DELF B1 and the DALF C1 and C2; for France’s own calendar and the other countries, DELF exam dates 2027.
Practise on the real format
You pay the full fee for each session, and you can’t retake the test right away. The mock exams in the “TCF DELF TEF: Tests 2026” app follow the official format of each test — TCF Canada, TEF Canada, DELF, DALF — scored like the real thing, with AI feedback on writing and speaking.
